Home to the Nedbank Golf Challenge, these fairways have been walked by the best in the game, from Jack Nicklaus and Ernie Els to the fierce Tiger Woods. Stretching over more than 7000 metres, it’s definitely one of the world’s longest golf courses and its challenge is both physical and mental.

    Valley of the Waves

Sun City’s Valley of Waves waterpark is a legendary hub for all kinds of water fun. This is a great for a family holiday as it accommodates the daring spirit for adventurers of all ages. There is a designated children’s area to keep parents’ minds at ease and lifeguards are on duty daily. Day visitors are also attracted to the Valley of Waves, as it encompasses a full day of exciting activity.

You enter the waterpark from the Entertainment Centre and across the Bridge of Time. This bridge erupts every hour in an exciting, theatrical display of vibrations, rumbling volcanic sounds and smoke. The main attraction at the Valley of Waves is the Roaring Lagoon – a 6,500 square metre wave pool with hydraulic mechanisms that generate waves of up to 1.8 metres every 90 seconds. The Roaring Lagoon is bordered by a beach with sea sand and palm trees.

There is something at the Valley of Waves for the more daring too. The famous Temple of Courage promises an exhilarating adrenalin rush with a 17-metre drop down a 70-metre slide. The almost vertical slide takes riders hurtling under a bridge and splashing into a small pool. There are also two body slides – the arantula and the Scorpion – and two tube rides – the Viper and the Mamba.

The Lazy River offers a gentle, continuous tube ride around an island, while the Royal Bath swimming pool beside the Amphitheatre offers a place to soak up some warm sun rays, cocktail in hand. There are a number of walkways through tropical forests surrounding the Valley of Waves. Here you can explore and discover the Spider Web Sway Bridge, hidden cave waterfalls, rare plant varieties and more.

After your flight to Maun Airport (approximately 2½ hours) you will be warmly welcomed by a lodge representative and transported by Helicopter to your chosen luxury lodge in the Okavango Delta – the world’s largest inland delta often referred to as a miracle of nature lying at the heart of the Kalahari Desert.

    Safari & Activities

As dawn breaks over the African bush, awake to the unimaginable African splendour. Take a walk around the lodge or cool off with a refreshing swim in the pool. Your African adventure continues with an early morning game drive exploring the floodplains and grasslands of the Delta in search of the Big Five.

    Scenic Helicopter Flights
Thrill to an aerial view of the Okavango Delta as you soar above a vast maze of both permanent and fleeting waterways and floodplains that occupy an otherwise sandy corner of Botswana in a helicopter. Fly over rivers and pools dotted with lily pads, as well as a variety of wild animals that inhabit this unique habitat.
    Photographic Safari
Improve your outdoor photography and capture the magnificent wildlife and scenic landscapes of the Okavango Delta on a photographic safari. This safari is accompanied by a professional photographer, who is also a trained guide and is able to predict the behaviour of the animals, as well as giving you advice on the composition and settings for your photographs. Set out in a private vehicle and spend as much time as you want at each sighting, bringing your own equipment or use the state-of-the-art digital SLR cameras with zoom lenses that are provided.

    Water Safari
The Delta is probably best known for its Mokoro rides. These are boating trips through the maze like channels and shallow lagoons of the Delta. They are conducted in traditional boats which are called Mokoros. These sturdy boats used to be hand crafted out of large Delta trees. Today most of the boats used in the Delta are fiber glass replicas, to prevent the cutting down and depletion of the Delta’s magnificent trees.
Mokoros are a great way to go game viewing. As they are not motorized, they allow you to glide silently through the channels. This allows you to approach the wildlife silently and you will see more, as they are not scared off by a motor. You will see many animals that feed on the grass and reeds on the palm islands such as lechwe, sitatunga, elephant, hippo and crocodile.

    Journeys end

You will be transported by Helicopter back to Maun International Airport.
